Now that the bathroom and kitchen renovations are completed and by next week all the other work will also be completed I will be facing the daunting task of putting my house back together. In the midst of all this chaos I craved chocolate chip cookies – one of my all best comfort foods.
I really don’t need an excuse to bake chocolate chip cookies (my hips can attest to that). Really, I wanted to try the convection feature on my new oven. I don’t have any experience baking with a convection oven and I wanted to give it a ‘test run’ before my Christmas marathon baking begins (hopefully sometime soon before Christmas).
So, I turned the knob to Conv Baking, set the oven temperature to 375 degrees and activated the Conv Baking feature. Although the temperature was set to 375 degrees, the Conv Baking feature adjusted the temperature to 350 degrees. I baked 3 cookies sheets (3 dozen cookies) in 9 minutes! Wow! This surely will save me time on my marathon baking.
I used my ‘tried and true’ Chipits Chewy Milk Chocolate Cookies recipe from Hershey. The only change I made was to add a 1/4 teaspoon of Fiori di Sicilia extract which is an aroma of citrus and vanilla. It is also used when making Panettone. Fiori di Sicilia can be purchased from the King Arthur website.
Well, the cookies are baked but my house is still in a chaos! Time to eat those cookies!
